projects, in the course of ideas.

happy holidays, Christmas is near. Inspired by a Guardian Masterclass on tablet publishing, I set myself the challenge to explore animation in html5 with the help of Edge Animate. With deadline of precisely 30 days my evenings and weekends were filled with illustration, animation, hours spent researching the abilities of the software and then production, production, production. The result was a digital interpretation of the advent calendar, published on my website and distributed amongst my friends and family as a “Thank you | I love you | I’m thinking of you | Merry Christmas”

buzz, the rest is just noise. A few of my MSc Publishing course along with a bunch of journalism masters took on the challenge to set up a new magazine. We concepted a local lifestyle magazine for Edinburgh's twenty-somethings, and I gave it a look and feel inspired by European-style design to attract the masses. Pick on up for free across the capital!

a scots quair, an exhibition catalogue in words. When first presented with Lewis Grassic Gibbon's A Scots Quair i found it challenging to work my way through 600 dense pages of early 20th century life in rural Scotland. Finding a way and a market to make this classic more exciting whilst playing to the strengths of the university background in the creative industries was my priority and i pursued this goal to the final project plan.

dead beautiful, Greenpeace ocean defender. Developing a (practice) campaign for Greenpeace started with a fundamental decision. Faced with an abundance of environmental and ethical problems how can you possibly pick? Pragmatically, campaigning for one cause is still better than not making the effort at all, so i chose raise awareness for the struggling ecosystem of our oceans - water being the foundation of all things living.

pizza regionale, stop dreaming, start eating. You will find that my Diploma Thesis is a very personal piece of work and filled with my pride, passion and love. The title “Pizza Regionale” stands for a series of magazines about travelling and home, between the foreign and the familiar, foreignness within the familiar and the familiar within the foreign. This thesis is about my passions and my hometown.

pixelfabrik, factory of a million squares. You will also find a Corporate Design that I created earlier on at uni, and that shows an example of the appearance of a fictional company specialised in digital architectural photography.

logotyper, this is me. Finally, this section gives you a small insight into my roots by displaying logotypes from the very beginnings, all of them underlying different definitions yet representing myself.
