pizza regionale, stop dreaming start eating.
The especialness of the magazine is that it is part of the journey itself. The design of each and every issue is done by new designers and authors who report about their towns, villages, countries, homes or adopted countries. Thus the magazine develops in a creative way and is always filled with new fresh ideas. What adds zest to the issues is that the beholder sees the town through the designer‘s eyes. That is not possible unless the content of the single issues is put together by a homogenious group including at the least one designer and one author. By exploring their familiar surrounding and environment anew they build a bridge between the traveller and the one who is at home. The assumption that both coexist is thus implemented and nailed down.
Pizza Regionale is not restricted to the German-speaking areas. The international magazine is
bilingual with the first language being the national language. The second language is an
English translation that is universally understandable. The bilingualism opens to every reader a foreign and a familiar part. The only exception are countries where English is the official language. There the second language may be chosen by the designer and might be a dialect, second official language or language of an ethnic group.
A new issue is being released every
three months. Thus there is enough time for research and creation, the character of a serial magazine however is guaranteed and the waiting period for collectors is tolerable. Every
Designer may
suggest his successor for the upcoming issue. The publisher however reserves the right to veto. The requirement for new designers are their citizenship to a place that wasn‘t covered by a former issue. A
tutor from the
lead off team will accompany the project and support the designers‘ work.
